There are currently a number of Federal & State Government Incentive Initiatives in place to encourage the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR's) by all Physicians and Healthcare Professionals in the United States. Medical Professionals who implement an EMR by the year 2011 are eligible to receive as much as $44,000 in Medicare Incentives or $64,000 in Medicaid Incentives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Medical Professionals who demonstrate use of a certified e-Prescribing system are also eligible for Medicare bonus payments through the year 2013.

In order to participate in these and other Government Sponsored EMR Incentive Programs three requirements are necessary to qualify:

• Must be an Eligible Professional
• Must use a Certified EMR Technology*
• Must be a Meaningful User of an EMR
